The purpose of the TfS Initiative is to develop and implement a global audit program to assess and improve sustainability practices within the supply chains of the chemical industry.

Key Features

- TfS Audits are an on-site audit conducted by a TfS approved audit company.

- They evaluate the Social, Ethical and Environmental standards of a manufacturing company.

- Aimed at all manufacturers (Chemical, Packaging, Machine Industry etc.) however with a focus on Chemical manufacturer.

- The program is global and operating in all regions.

- All suppliers can be assessed, irrespective of maturity level.

- The program is not a certification or a 'pass or fail' audit, but identifies potential risks and opportunities for companies.

- TfS audits are shared with the members of the TfS initiative, avoiding multiple requests to differing standards from customers.

- Suppliers own the result of their TfS audit, and are free to share this with any other customers

TfS has 21 member companies currently (Q2 2018) - members are Akzo Nobel, Arkema, BASF, Bayer, Borealis, Brenntag, Clariant, Covestro, DSM, DuPont, Eastman, Evonik, Henkel, IFF, Lanxess, Merck, Sanofi, Solvay, Syngenta, UPM, Wacker.

TfS members have initiated more than 800 audits and 10,000 assessments.
