The Gold Standard can be applied to projects within both the Voluntary and Compliance Carbon Markets.

The Gold Standard ensures the reduction of carbon emissions and the delivery of environment, social and economic benefits to the local communities.

All Gold Standard projects are continuously Monitored, Reported and Verified (MRV) for both real and permanent emission reductions and sustainable development.

Gold Standards CERs and VERs attain premium prices due to the co-benefits brought about to local communities and the quality of emission reductions.

The Gold Standard does not set a minimum project size for VER credits.

The Gold Standard excludes projects that may have a high chance of adverse impacts on the environment, economic and social dimension, following the implementation of the carbon program.

Additionally tests relative to those of the CDM are equal and even superior.

The Gold Standard certification process is monitored by industry experts within the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) and verified by third party Unaccredited auditors.

The Gold Standard goes above and beyond pure carbon, with Local Stakeholder Consultations, ‘Do no harm’ assessments and the Sustainable Development Matrix.
